The main law that regulates Ontario's retail automotive industry is the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA). This act was specifically created to regulate the sale, lease, and financing of motor vehicles in the province of Ontario. The Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) only covers general regulations for motor vehicles and does not specifically relate to retail automotive sales. The Dealers Act for Regulation of Motor Vehicles (RVM) and Ontario's Motor Vehicle Act (OMVA) are not actual laws and do not pertain to the regulation of the retail automotive industry in Ontario.
